Suelynn Estby
About
Hello,
My name is Suelynn Estby and I’m a landscape design contractor based out of Santa Cruz County.
I would like you to get to know me a bit, as much as can be done in a few paragraphs, and should you have any further curiosities I would share more about myself with you as well.
On the outside I am a fifty-six year old woman, mother of two, founder of an eco-village, lover of animals, writer of books, painter of paintings, and owner of a landscape company. On the inside I am a small girl playing in the mud having the time of her life in her grown-up friends yards.
A word from the business woman: I take what I do seriously, with intent to expand your home into your yard – giving you that touch – giving you that space where you can be yourself, get out of your head, and into beauty, into nature.
A word from the small girl: I take what I do with lightness of being, with broad strokes, no intent, just creation through little hands that want to mush things together until they are just right, like chocolate chip cookies.
In a world where we are, for the most part, trying our best to understand what we love and what our talents are, I feel grateful to make a living at something that brings lasting beauty. To spend so many hours a day creating is a gift. As a young girl I never imagined that digging in dirt with my mother would turn into a lifelong creative outlet.
Now through the collaboration of two sons, we combine scale, color, texture, and growing materials, then tinker with mind and hand to make living environments. “God and the Devil are in the details” – “So let’s place each tree and tiny rock with such intent.”
I send you warm and playful thoughts for your new endeavor of bringing your garden to life, and look forward to creating with you!
